Our Ayurvedic clinic offers authentic Shirodhara therapy for stress relief, anxiety, insomnia, and nervous system reset. Shirodhara is a traditional Ayurvedic treatment in which a continuous stream of warm, medicated herbal oil is gently poured over the forehead (third eye area). This rhythmic oil therapy calms the mind, balances the doshas, and promotes deep relaxation. Each session is performed by an Ayurvedic Practitioner and Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), combining classical Ayurvedic wisdom with skilled therapeutic bodywork. Your Shirodhara Session Includes: - Marma (energy point) massage for the head and scalp - Relaxing foot massage to ground the nervous system - Warm herbal oil dhara using the Shirobliss® system - Traditional manual setup for Takradhara and Kashaya Dhara when indicated We use a nourishing sesame oil base infused with Ayurvedic herbs including: - Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica) - Bhringraj (Eclipta alba) - Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) - Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) This herbal oil supports stress reduction, hormonal balance, scalp health, and healthy hair growth. Shirodhara is commonly used for stress, anxiety, insomnia, burnout, headaches, adrenal fatigue, hormonal imbalance, and mental overactivity. How long is a Shirodhara session? Sessions typically last 45-60 minutes, including marma therapy and foot massage. Is Shirodhara good for hair growth? Yes. The medicated herbal oil nourishes the scalp, strengthens hair roots, and supports healthy hair growth. Who performs the treatment? Shirodhara is performed by an Ayurvedic Practitioner who is also a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), ensuring safe, skilled, and authentic care. Do you offer Takradhara or Kashaya Dhara in Sunnyvale? Yes. In addition to oil dhara using Shirobliss®, we offer traditional manual setups for Takradhara (buttermilk dhara) and Kashaya Dhara (herbal decoction dhara), depending on your needs. How often should I receive Shirodhara? For chronic stress or insomnia, a series of 3–5 sessions is often recommended. We personalize recommendations based on your constitution and goals.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy — The Ayurvedic Life Your appointment reserves dedicated one-on-one time with our practitioner. When a session is cancelled at short notice, that time cannot be offered to another client. This policy keeps appointments available and fairly priced for everyone. Booking: - Appointments must be booked by 6:00 PM the evening before your visit. - Same-day appointments are available by phone or text only: (408) 583-8011. Online same-day booking is not available. - A valid card is required to hold every appointment. Your card is not charged at booking — it is only charged under the terms below. Cancellations and rescheduling: - 24 hours or more notice: cancel or reschedule once free of charge. - Less than 24 hours' notice: the full session fee is charged to the card on file (*no exceptions*). - No-shows (no notice given): the full session fee is charged, and all future appointments must be prepaid in full at the time of booking. - Late arrivals - Arriving 15-30 minutes late: your session is shortened so the next client is not affected. The full session fee applies. - Arriving more than 30 minutes late is treated as a no-show. - Repeat late cancellations - After two late cancellations or one no-show, all future appointments must be prepaid in full when booking. - Prepaid appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice are forfeited — no refund and no credit. Fees and refunds: - Session fees charged under this policy are non-refundable. - Prepaid appointments cancelled with 24+ hours' notice may be rescheduled once at no charge. - Consultations and treatment fees are non-refundable once a session has taken place. - Gift cards purchased through our Square gift card store are non refundable and non-transferable for cash, in accordance with Square’s gift card terms, and do not expire unless required otherwise by law.
